"Bringing Life to the Living Word"

This exciting project currently underway on the shores of Lake Moogerah will utilise existing facilities (Calvary, Praetorium, Sea of Galilee, etc.) and in addition two new areas will be created -- a Biblical Village where scenes from the Old and New Testaments will be re-enacted, and an Australian bush setting for scenes relating to Christian culture in our country since the arrival of the First Fleet.

Performances by four or five professional actors will be given daily in these three venues.

"The House of Living Water" will be another first for Australia - an interactive Christian museum. It will celebrate Australia's Christian heritage, and the impact of Christianity on Australian culture. It will also celebrate our Biblical heritage, so that we can indeed bring life to the Living Word.

The proposed site is the Lake Theatre, on the shores of Lake Moogerah, in south-east Queensland (Australia). The existing auditorium with its Calvary, praetorium, Sea of Galilee etc, will sit in the middle of the museum.

To one side will be an Australian historical area. Visitors will then move through a Biblical village (built using straw bales), and on to the main auditorium. In all three of these areas, a number of professional actors will entertain their audience by re-enacting events from Australia's past history or by portraying scenes from the Old and New Testaments.

From there the Audience will go to the "House of Living Water" (see artists impression), a multi-functional building with superb views of mountain and lake.

Three elements distinguished this building. Visitors enter the building behind a waterfall (see artists impression), and the pond actually intrudes into the building itself. Water is celebrated as both a religious symbol as well as a life-giving substance. Light is also celebrated in the multi-coloured windows on the second level, and finally nature is presented in a special way - in a three tiered scaffolding of tree trunks reaching up to three crosses in a transparent fibreglass done. The first tier of twelve trunks six metres high will be representations of "Biblical Giants" in the Bible, from Abraham to St Paul. The next tier of ten represent the ten commandments, and the final four reaching into the cupola each symbolise one of the Gospels (ox, lion, man and eagle).

People will come to see this building for itself, but it will also house catering facilities and souvenir shop, as well as floor space for inter-active exhibits, video clips, and historical displays of various sorts. In addition, the building may be used for conferences, concerts, wedding receptions, church services, etc.

With statistics indicating the decline of Christian faith and values in the country, and with the need to preserve the value of our strong (Australian) Christian heritage, the "House of Living Water" is a timely project.
